Following a breakthrough year that saw active gaming surge, two highly anticipated games on the Tezos blockchain layer-2 solution Etherlink have launched. These strategic releases further cement Tezos' position as a leading blockchain-of-choice for gaming innovation, now supporting over 11 active games with a community of 180.000 wallets in the last month.

Pikes Arena delivers intense, strategic PvP combat where players outmaneuver opponents, gather resources to strengthen their position, and compete for real-world rewards. The game features three distinct modes: Warm-up mode—a free-to-play experience where players master combat skills; Pike mode—where players face real opponents, earn PIKE$ tokens, and qualify for airdrops; and tez (XTZ) mode—where players can wager with tez in engaging PvP battles. The implementation leverages Sequence's cutting-edge account abstraction smart contract wallet and Sequence Builder technology to streamline the Web2-to-Web3 user transition.

Cricket Champions, the world's first strategy collectible card game dedicated to cricket launched on Etherlink. This innovative title brings the popular sport to blockchain gaming through Player-vs-player strategic card battles, campaign series with progressive challenges, Esports tournaments for competitive players and college, city, and national-level championships in India. Players can collect cards representing cricket elements and upgrade them to develop winning strategies against opponents. The game aims to engage cricket's massive global fanbase with accessible blockchain integration through Etherlink.

The announcement comes in the wake of significant gaming momentum within the Tezos ecosystem, including John Smedley's Distinct Possibility Studios raising $30.5 million for their new AAA shooter "Reaper Actual" built on Etherlink, Tezos' Layer 2 solution. TapNation, a leading mobile publisher with over 1 billion downloads, launched Athletic Rush on Tezos. Uranium Miner, an Etherlink-based game, reached 180,000 monthly active users during its first season. Sugarverse, which boasts a Web2 user base of 60 million, launched the CNDY token last year and is now preparing to release a Web3 game to onboard its existing community. Meanwhile, launchpads OpenPad and GameFi integrated with Tezos and Etherlink to support early-stage gaming projects with funding and go-to-market support.

"The metrics demonstrate the strength of our approach to web3 gaming," said Efe Kucuk, Head of Gaming at Trilitech (Tezos R&D Hub in London). "By focusing on seamless integration, user acquisition support, dedicated funding, and product expertise, we've created an environment where innovative game concepts can thrive."
